Integration spec highlights
Full spec →SSO Protocol
OAuth 2.0 / OIDC via Clever or ClassLink. Teachers and admins provision automatically. Students require guardian consent (COPPA).
Data Handled
Teacher name + email stored. Student PII is NOT stored — only used to send a one-time guardian invitation, then discarded.
COPPA Compliance
No student account creation without verifiable parental consent. Child records store display name (1–32 chars) and avatar only.
FERPA Posture
Plio executes a School Official Agreement before enabling integration. Data used solely to provide the learning service.
Roster Sync
Nightly delta sync via Clever Events API. On-demand resync available. Disconnect preserves data for 90 days.
SOC 2 Roadmap
SOC 2 Type I targeted Q1 2027. Current controls: Clerk auth, role-based access, audit logging, Neon AES-256 at rest.
